What to know first
Windows has no built-in way to turn an EPUB into a PDF. You need an app that can read the book and write the PDF. EPUB Reader from HAYAH does both, on your PC, with nothing uploaded.
Two things to expect. An EPUB reflows to fit any screen, while a PDF has fixed pages, so the PDF will not change its text size afterwards. And books with unusual layouts can look different from the EPUB, so check the result.
The app only works with DRM-free books. Books bought from Kindle or locked with Adobe DRM cannot be exported, and EPUB Reader never removes DRM.
Export a book to PDF
- Install EPUB Reader from the Microsoft Store with the button below.
- Choose Add books, or drag the EPUB onto the window, then open the book.
- Open the more menu in the reader and choose Export to PDF.
- In the Pages to export box, leave the whole book or enter a page range. Press Export.
- If asked, choose a name and folder for the PDF. The app confirms with “PDF exported”.
What is free and what is Pro
Three EPUB to PDF exports are free, and the app shows how many exports you have left. Pro, an optional $11.99 one-time purchase, makes exports unlimited and also adds read aloud, highlight export, sepia pages, your own fonts, CBR comics and right-to-left page turning. There is no subscription. PCs that already ran version 1.0 of EPUB Reader keep every feature free.
Other formats
EPUB Reader also opens MOBI, AZW3, FB2 and PDF books and CBZ comics. A book that is already a PDF does not need exporting. If you only want to read an EPUB, see How to open EPUB files on Windows.
